JOHANNESBURG - Mamelodi Sundowns have continued their incredible run of form with Supersport United becoming the latest victims of their wrath, Pitso Mosimane's men beat their Pretoria rivals 3-1 to book their place in the MTN 8 semi-finals.

Wayne Arendse put Sundowns in the lead in the first half, after some scrappy defending from Supersport.

Kingston Nkhatha then came off the bench before the half-time break and with his first touch of the ball, levelled matters to send both teams into the change-rooms tied.

The Premier Soccer League champions came out a determined side in the second half and looked good going forward, with Keagan Dolly, Percy Tau, Hlompho Kekana, Sibusiso Vilakazi and Khama Billiat making life difficult for Matsatsantsa.

Sundowns took the lead through a fortuitous goal from Vilakazi - the ball coming in from Dolly on the left found Kekana on the edge of the box and the midfielder connected with the ball on the volley first time and the shot came off Vilakazi's face and into the back of the net.

The third goal was anything but lucky - Tau began the attack on the right and fed the ball to Vilakazi who helped it on its way to Billiat and the PSL Player of the Year did well to lose his marker and place it beyond Ronwen Williams' reach to put the game to bed.

Tau walked away with the Man of the Match award for his stellar performance.

The 'Brazilians' will take on Chippa United in the two-legged semi-final, while Gavin Hunt's Wits will entertain Eric Tinkler's Cape Town City in the other semi.
