Holomisa calls for Madonsela to finish Gupta investigation before they sell shares
Bantu Holomisa says there is a legitimate expectation from SA about the outcomes of the investigation.
JOHANNESBURG - United Democratic Movement (UDM) leader Bantu Holomisa says the investigation into the Gupta family by the Public Protector should be finalised and published before they sell their shares in the country.
Yesterday, the controversial family which allegedly has close ties with President Jacob Zuma, announced its plans to pull out all of its South African shareholding before the end of the year.
The Guptas claim this is in the best interests of their existing employees and the country, after seeing its local management team has grown exponentially, since their decision to step down from executive and non-executive positions.
Holomisa says there is a legitimate expectation from South Africans about the outcomes of the investigation by Thuli Madonsela and the mediation committee between the family and the banks.
"It would have been better if the findings were published so that we know that they are not selling shares they got illicitly."
