CAPE TOWN - Embattled African National Congress (ANC) Western Cape chairperson Marius Fransman has accused other provincial party leaders of being dishonest.

In a Facebook post, Fransman claims he has evidence of a plot to unseat him. He's been accused of sexually assaulting a woman earlier this year.

He's repeatedly denied the claims, saying they're part of a smear campaign against him.

Meanwhile, Fransman says ANC Western Cape secretary Faiez Jacobs and Boland regional secretary Jonton Snyman are in part responsible for the ANC's poor performance in the recent local government elections.

"Both the provincial secretary and the regional secretary in Boland refused to ensure that ward candidates and PR candidates were registered on the list after they had gone through the proper ANC list process."
