RTMC experts sent to scene of deadly military bus crash
Ten people died when the driver lost control of a military bus, which rolled down an embankment.
JOHANNESBURG - The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) has sent accident reconstruction experts to the scene of a crash that claimed the lives of ten soldiers on the R712 near Golden Gate in the Free State.
The driver lost control of a military bus, which rolled down an embankment and overturned, ejecting several people from the vehicle.
Paramedics say at least 40 others were injured.
It's understood the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) employees were on their way to a Women's Day event at the Basotho cultural village when the driver lost control.
Spokesperson Simon Zwane says, "The RTMC has sent its accident reconstruction experts to the scene of the horror bus crash where we believed that ten people have died."
