CAPE TOWN - The University of Cape Town (UCT) says it is shocked after a group of its health science students were robbed in Khayelitsha earlier this week.
The incident has resulted in the UCT student health service being temporarily suspended in the area.
The university's Pat Lucas explains: "University of Cape Town intends to discuss our response to these incidents at the highest level. Meanwhile, we're working with colleagues to ensure strategies are put in place to ensure the safety of all those from UCT who, for instance, work at partner schools in Khayelitsha."
The six health science students were robbed at gunpoint outside a primary school in Site B.
