At least 12 hurt in a multi-vehicle pileup in Midrand

JOHANNESBURG - At least 12 people have been injured in a multi-vehicle pileup on the N1 South near the New Road off-ramp in Midrand.

It's understood at least two trucks and nine vehicles collided with each other.

Paramedics have transported those injured to various hospitals.

Netcare 911's Athlenda Mathe said: "Traffic has been affected on this route and motorists are advised to drive with extra caution on the N1 South after the New Road off-ramp in Midrand."
