Cosatu: Nelson Mandela warned against voting for DA
Cosatu says Mandela addressed the trade union federation in 2000 and warned against the DA.
JOHANNESBURG - Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) claims Nelson Mandela had warned about voting for the Democratic Alliance (DA) and the labour federation is calling on smaller parties not to form any coalitions with the party.
Cosatu held a media briefing at their offices in Johannesburg yesterday to unpack the election results.
The union federation says should the African National Congress (ANC) continue to lose support at this rate, it could lead to an implosion of the party.

The late former statesman has been quoted countless times during this election.
The DA faced criticism from the ANC and the Mandela family for using Madiba in their campaign.
Cosatu's Solly Phetoe says Mandela addressed the trade union federation in 2000 and warned against the opposition party.
"Nvere be misled about this DA, it's a bosses' party and a racist party. No matter how many black stooges it paraded as its leaders, remember that."
Cosatu says it will warn smaller parties not to form coalitions with the DA.
