JOHANNESBURG - The son of former South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) board member, Hope Zinde, is expected back in the Brits Regional Court this morning in connection with her murder.

Mark Zinde is accused of killing his mother at their Pecanwood Estate home in Hartbeespoort Dam in the North West in June.

The 23-year-old has also been charged with drug possession. Zinde's body was discovered in the boot of her car in June.

Her son did not appear in court during his last appearance last month as his psychiatric evaluation was still underway.

The court had ordered Zinde to be evaluated to determine if he was fit to stand trial for the murder of his mother.

The family has supported the 23-year-old's admission into a mental facility, saying that he had been due to be sent to a rehabilitation centre before his mother's murder.

An affidavit to the court revealed that Zinde became aggressive and violent prior to his mother's death.
