CAPE TOWN - A man has been arrested for allegedly robbing two Cape Town metro police officers in Khayelitsha.

The two were robbed of their service pistols when they stopped to issue a motorist with a ticket in Mandela Park yesterday.

It's believed at least three other suspects are still at large.

Police also confiscated four firearms.

The City of Cape Town's Wayne Le Roux says, "Yesterday afternoon our metro officers were busy doing their normal routine patrol and stop-and-check, they were stopped by members of the public and some of these guys pointed firearms at the two police officers. They were disarmed and they also took the vehicle keys."
