Gugulethu man to appear in court after girl's alleged rape
Police say the 50-year-old man transports children to primary schools in the Cape.
CAPE TOWN - A Gugulethu man will appear in court tomorrow for allegedly raping a girl in Phillipi.
Police officers who were on patrol in the area spotted a suspicious looking vehicle and, as they approached it, the man tried to flee.
Police spokesperson Captain Frederick van Wyk says: "A minor from Crawford was found in the vehicle. When questioned she told the officer what he had done to her. The 50-year-old male suspect transports children to primary schools. He will appear in the Athlone Magistrates Court on Monday."
