ANCYL concerned about ANC's election performance
The ANCYL’s secretary general says the ANC shouldn’t be celebrating following its performance.
JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) says the party should make it a priority to find out why some voters have lost confidence in the organisation in Gauteng.
While the ANC bagged Gauteng, the Democratic Alliance is claiming it's won the City of Tshwane.
However, the ANC says its political arch rival's celebrations are premature as there is no outright majority in the capital.
Gauteng ANCYL Secretary General Bones Modise says the ANC's performance gives cause for concern.
"The majority of our people who vote ANC on any normal day didn't go out and vote. What went wrong? Why has this happened? We need to go back to basics and consulate with our membership. If the people are not voting for the ANC, you need to be concerned. You can't celebrate."
