Jordaan plays down Ipsos poll on Nelson Mandela Bay
The poll shows the DA is ahead of the ANC in the battle for the Nelson Mandela Bay metro.
CAPE TOWN - Nelson Mandela Bay Mayor Danny Jordaan says the Ipsos poll is not a thorough scientific survey.
The poll shows the Democratic Alliance is ahead of the African National Congress by 14 percentage points in the metro.
Jordaan made his mark in this local government elections a short while ago.
After dropping both his ballots in the ballot boxes, Jordaan said it felt good to exercise his democratic right as he walked out of the voting station to speak to journalists.
Jordaan is optimistic about the ANC retaining the metro. He says the Ipsos poll is not an accurate reflection of the reality on the ground.
"Many people that I came across, the 30,000 that were there, you ask them, not a single one was touched by the Ipsos poll. It's not a thorough and a scientific methodology."
Jordaan has since left the voting station, but there is still a long queue of people waiting to make their mark in this Summerstrand ward.
