NKANDLA - Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi said the African National Congress (ANC)'s track record in failing to deliver is reason enough not to vote for the ruling party.

He addressed a crowd of people at the sports grounds in Nkandla yesterday.

The IFP took control the metro from the ANC in 2012. Buthelezi said since then, the ANC has only lied to the people.

"So when our economy is failing, when unemployment is escalating, when food costs are rising every day, when poverty is deepening every day and a lot of people struggling on daily basis, the ANC says 'we've a good story to tell.'"

The IFP has been visiting areas around the province this week to ramp up support ahead of Wednesday's election.
