‘Vote ANC or else ancestors will punish you, you’ll have bad luck forever’

JOHANNESBURG - President Jacob Zuma has told supporters in Soweto that those who leave the African National Congress (ANC) will be punished by their ancestors and will have bad luck all their lives.

The president is speaking in Thokoza Park, after a door-to-door campaign in the informal settlement.



With just days to go to the municipal elections, Zuma has told the crowd that "it's not nice outside the ANC".

President Zuma has repeated his statement that the ANC will govern the country until the return of Jesus Christ.



Speaking in isiZulu, he has told supporters that those who leave the party will anger their ancestors and will then have bad luck all their lives.



The president also took a swipe at independent candidates who have left the ANC, warning supporters that if they vote for them, they too will have bad luck.
