JOHANNESBURG - Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan has reiterated the importance of building partnerships to help stabilise and grow South Africa's economy.

Speaking in Sandton this morning, Gordhan says working together helped the country avoid a ratings downgrade earlier this year.

"It's the partnership approach between labour and government and business and our ability to create a united narrative and present a united front as a country, and it enabled us to pass that hurdle in June."
