SA casting director Moonyeenn says she thought someone was pranking her when she read the email inviting her to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
JOHANNESBURG - South African casting director Moonyeenn Lee has been invited to become a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Lee, with 43 years of experience in the industry, is the only South African to be chosen amongst the 683 film professionals invited.
She says at first she thought someone was pulling a prank on her when she read the email.
She has been part of the production teams of Tsotsi, Hotel Rwanda and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
The Academy manages award ceremonies such as the Oscars.
