Regina Belle, Manhattans to once again take the stage at The Teatro

Songstress Regina Belle says she is blown away by the quality of South African singers.

JOHANNESBURG - R&B sensation Regina Belle and legendary blues group The Manhattans are set to perform on the second night of their _Legends of R&B _tour this evening.

Nearly 2,000 fans filled The Teatro at Montecasino last night with former Manhattans lead singer Gerald Alston joining with the group, years after of going solo.

Local vocalist Ikiri Lawrence was also given the opportunity to do a rendition of the Aladdin sound track, A Whole New World, alongside Regina Belle.

She says she was blown away by the quality of local singers throughout the audition process.

Belle says her ability to make music is what keeps her going.

She adds, "I think people are inspired to make music or to go on trying music. I do it with passion. I do it with fire and for me it's not work, it's breathing it's living, it's who I am. Music is so a part of me; I say this all the time, I bleed notes"



The Jo'burg leg of the tour ends tomorrow night, before the show moved to the Grand Arena at GrandWest Casino in Cape Town.
