Zuma and ANC provincial leaders, including embattled chairperson Marius Fransman, campaigned in Cape Town today.
Their first stop was a door-to-door campaign in Philippi.
Hundreds of residents welcomed Zuma to Philippi's Siyahlala Informal Settlement.
Zuma and ANC mayoral candidate for Cape Town Xolani Sotashe visited two homes where they were told people are struggling to find work.
Locals also complained about high levels of crime, including house burglaries and vehicle theft.
Zuma told residents they had to ensure Sotashe is elected mayor so that he can address their problems.
The President was also expected to visit Delft and Khayelitsha today.
