Fake tax practitioner to appear in court next month
The man allegedly submitted fraudulent tax claims to the tune of R691,000 on behalf of several businesses.
CAPE TOWN - A suspected fake tax practitioner who allegedly defrauded the South African Revenue Service (Sars) is due in court next month.
It's alleged that between 2009 and 2012, the 42-year-old man submitted fraudulent tax claims to the tune of R691,000 on behalf of several businesses.
He was arrested in Bellville this week.
Hawks spokesperson Lloyd Ramovha said: "The accused is expected to appear in the Bellville Commercial Crimes Court on 1 August to answer to charges in contravention of Income Tax Act."
