City Power working to restore power in Randburg
The theft of cables has prolonged outage in the greater Randburg region.
JOHANNESBURG - City Power says its working to restore electricity in the greater Randburg region after some of its cables were stolen early this morning.
Technicians are working to restore power in the Northwold, Strijdom Park, Northriding and surrounding areas.
At the same time Johannesburg Mayor Parks Tau will also visit the Jukskei River along Malibongwe Drive this afternoon where the cables were stolen.
Spokesperson Yumna Sheik, says "Our teams have been working since Monday afternoon trying to restore power. Unfortunately, further incidents earlier this morning have prolonged the outage in the area. We are expecting to have the power restored shortly, we shall have an update probably within the next hour for the residents."
