Werner Kok: I would never pull out of the Olympics

JOHANNESBURG - Rugby Sevens star Werner Kok says he would never pull out of the Olympic Games as it's the biggest sporting event an athlete can compete in.
There has been a lot of controversy building up to the games - with various athletes, golfers in particular, withdrawing for various reasons including fatigue and the Zika virus.
Kok is one of the 139 athletes announced to represent Team South Africa (SA) in August.
The rugby player, who was dressed in a green and gold shirt with "I back Team SA" inscribed on the back, spoke about his excitement to participate in the Olympic Games.
"It's just how people talk that Olympics can be so much bigger, it's something to look forward to. It's going to be huge."
The Blitzboks head into the Olympics knowing what victory tastes like, having already won the world series, but perhaps more important, having won gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The sevens, along with golf, track and field, and athletics, swimming and rowing will be some of the big sporting codes looking to help Team SA reach its goal of ten medals.
