Zizi Kodwa: ANC is worried about state of affairs at SABC
As the SABC continues to make headlines, the ANC says that the crisis at the broadcaster needs to be resolved urgently.
JOHANNESBURG - African National Congress (ANC) national spokesperson Zizi Kodwa says the party is very worried about the recent developments at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).
The public broadcaster continues to make headlines after it announced the ban on airing footage of property being destroyed in protests and the suspension of staff members who questions the decision.
The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) has recommended that the public broadcaster withdraw its recent editorial changes.
But the SABC has rejected this and is heading to court to challenge Icasa's ruling.
Kodwa says there have been too many voices within the ANC speaking on the crisis at the SABC and has urged the party's structures to refrain from making further statements and to focus on the 3 August polls.
