KZN woman due in court for kidnapping a baby
The suspect helped the mother with her crying baby by putting him to sleep but later vanished with the baby.
JOHANNESBURG - A 28-year-old KwaZulu-Natal woman will appear in the Nkombose Magistrate Court tomorrow after allegedly kidnapping a six-week-old baby from a local clinic.
The police's Thulani Zwane says the mother of the boy had taken him in for immunization and accepted help from the suspect when the baby wouldn't stop crying.
Zwane says the woman managed to put the baby to sleep but then vanished with the baby.
He says the baby was found a day later after police worked throughout the night.
"They found the baby sleeping with the suspect and she was arrested and the baby was returned to his parents."
