JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC)'s leadership has visited the home of Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane's parents in Soweto as part of an electioneering campaign.

Former president Kgalema Motlanthe and ANC provincial chairperson Paul Mashatile conducted an election campaign walkabout in the area yesterday.

Accompanying them were various ward councillors and other members who also made a stop at Maimane's parents' home.

Mashatile says it is all part of visiting those living in area to campaign.

"He received us warmly, he is an old resident here and we don't want to cause strife in any family so we understand his position very well."
