Mandela family lays complaint against DA over election ad
The family is outraged over the use of the former president’s voice in a DA advert.
JOHANNESBURG - The Mandela family has today laid a formal complaint with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) and the Advertising Standards Authority, seeking urgent intervention to stop what they have described as the "unashamed manipulation of Madiba's name".
Nelson Mandela's family are outraged over the use of former president's voice in a Democratic Alliance (DA) advert, which was released over the weekend.

The family says their consent and that of the Nelson Mandela Foundation was not given, and it is public knowledge that the former statesmen was a lifelong leader of the African National Congress.
