JOHANNESBURG - The Tshwane metro is accelerating negotiations to move residents who have been displaced by the deadly fire in the Plastic View informal settlement.

Five people were killed and dozens were injured when a massive blaze gutted about 300 shacks on Saturday night.

Tshwane spokesman Blessing Manale says, "Women and children, who were sleeping in open tents, were moved into a hall so we continue to provide them food and shelter.

"Tomorrow night will be the last time that we provide them with shelter, because we believe that by Friday morning they should have have rebuilt their shelter."
