JOHANNESBURG - International Relations Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane said that while she doesn't know much about Brexit, she hasn't seen any evidence that it will impact South Africa.

Last month, Britain voted to leave the European Union in a move that sent shockwaves through the global economies.

The decision also caused the pound to drop to its lowest since the 1980's.

The minister was asked for her reaction to Brexit and she said she only knows about it from what she's seen on TV.

"We haven't seen real evidence, maybe it's still coming but one for sure is we are not members there and we can only say 'viva democracy'."
