JOHANNESBURG - Metrorail says it's hoping to restore all train services at the Mabopane station near Soshanguve before peak hour traffic this afternoon.

Technicians are trying to repair an electrical cable which was damaged this morning affecting an estimated 100,000 commuters.

One lane has now been cleared for use but the rail company says the train services are still delayed by 45 minutes.

The company's Lillian Mofokeng says, "We're using one line to operate the movement of trains both upwards and downwards. We're trying very hard to ensure that the line is fully restored for the afternoon peak."
