The Nelson Mandela Bay Metro is regarded as one of the hotly contested regions in this year's elections.
CAPE TOWN - Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane has promised to deliver on the party's promises if it wins in the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.
Maimane was in the Eastern Cape yesterday where he addressed the community of Motherwell, which is currently under African National Congress (ANC) rule.
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, which comprises Port Elizabeth, is set to be one of the hotly contested regions in this year's elections.
Maimane's spokesperson, Mabine Seebe, says they feel confident about winning the region.
"The DA leader, as well as our mayoral candidate Athol Trollip, are well-known and well-liked in the metro. Hence, we're showing growth in the polls. The recent polls show we're gaining traction in Nelson Mandela Bay."
