CAPE TOWN - A seventh person has died as a result of a recent shack fire in Wallacedene.
Fifty-one-year-old Thenjiwe Mankayi was hospitalised after the fire broke out in the Kraaifontein informal settlement on Friday morning.
It's now emerged she died over the weekend.
Six others, including four children, died in the blaze.
Western Cape Department of Health's Darren Francis says, "The 51-year-old female that was burnt in the Wallacedene shack fire has passed away. Her injuries were too extensive (sic)."
