JOHANNESBURG - The funeral service for Limpopo Agriculture MEC Joy Matshoge is currently underway at the Ephraim Mogale stadium in Modimolle.

Matshoge, who was also the women's league chairperson in the province, died in a car crash last week.

African National Congress (ANC) Deputy Secretary General, Jessie Duarte has delivered a tribute on behalf of the party's national executive committee.

Those who worked closely with Matshoge have described her as a dedicated leader, who fought for the rights of South African women.

Members of the ANC Women's League, the Limpopo Provincial Legislature and locals are today paying their last respects to Matshoge.

It's believed she lost control of her vehicle after one of her tyres burst.

Since her death there's been an outpour of messages from leaders across the country who worked closely with her.

The women's league says it has lost a fearless leader and a selfless servant in Matshoge.
