JOHANNESBURG - The South African Weather Service has warned temperatures are expected to drop in Gauteng today as the cold front sets in the province.

The weather service says Vereeniging will be the most affected, with maximum temperatures expected to stay beneath 20 degrees this weekend.

Temperatures are expected to improve slightly by Tuesday.

The weather service's Brans Bulo said, "The cold front has moved to the eastern parts of the country and as a result our temperatures are dropping today. For Pretoria we are expecting of maximum of 20, Vereeniging at 18 and Johannesburg at 16."
