#N2Protest politically motivated, say CT officials
For a second morning this week, demonstrators blocked the highway during peak traffic hours.
CAPE TOWN - City of Cape Town law enforcement officials believe that the protest that threw traffic into chaos on the N2 this morning was politically motivated.
For a second morning this week, demonstrators blocked off the highway during peak hour traffic.
Police and traffic officials are maintaining high visibility along the N2 highway near Borcherds Quarry.
The road has since been reopened to traffic.
Police vehicles lined the highway to ensure that the road remains open.
At the moment there are no protesters to be seen. The rubble and debris that blocked the highway has now been cleared.
Some Nyanga residents who are making their way to work say they don't know what the protest was about.
