Boy (10) dies after being hit by bakkie near Worcester

CAPE TOWN - A boy has died after he was hit by a bakkie near Worcester.
The 10-year-old boy was reportedly trying to cross the N1 this morning when he was struck by the vehicle.
When paramedics arrived on the scene, the child had already died.
ER24's Russel Meiring says, "On our assessment, we discovered that the child had sustained numerous injuries to his head, chest and abdomen. Unfortunately, the child had already succumbed to his injuries prior to the arrival of the emergency services."
He adds, "Nothing more could have been done for the patient and he was declared dead on the scene. It is understood that the boy had attempted to cross the busy road when he was hit by the vehicle."
