CAPE TOWN - A man is expected to appear in court today in connection with charges related to gun smuggling.

The businessman is linked to convicted former police officer Christiaan Prinsloo, who last week pleaded guilty to 11 charges, including corruption, racketeering theft and money laundering.

The 41-year-old was arrested in Cape Town last week.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has confirmed he is linked to Prinsloo.

Prinsloo started serving his 18-year jail sentence last week after entering into a plea agreement with the State.

Prinsloo admitted that he and other colleagues provided guns to Cape Town gangsters, making more than R2 million in the process.
