Vicki Momberg to appear in court for crimen injuria

JOHANNESBURG - Estate agent Vicki Momberg is expected to appear in the Randburg District Court next month for her racist rant against black police officers.

She was captured on video hurling insults at black officers, after she had been involved in a smash and grab in Northriding in February.

In the video which has gone viral, Momberg uses the k-word and calls the city's black officers arrogant and useless.

The National Prosecuting Authority's Phindi Louw says she faces charges of crimen injuria.

"I can confirm that summons were served on Vicki Momberg on Thursday and she is due to appear in the Randburg District Court on 13 July."

The Human Rights Commission has also laid charges against Momberg at the Equality Court.
