Ses’khona’s Nkohla sets record straight on DA defection
Loyiso Nkohla says his decision had nothing to do with candidate nomination lists submitted to the IEC.
CAPE TOWN - Ses'khona People's Rights Movement secretary general Loyiso Nkohla says the African National Congress (ANC) has failed to fulfil its promises of improved service delivery to the poor.
The group was introduced by Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille at an official endorsement ceremony in Khayelitsha yesterday.
The community activist says his decision had nothing to do with candidate nomination lists submitted to the Independent Electoral Council ahead of the elections, claiming to have been offered positions within the ANC.
Nkohla, however, insists he rejected these offers.
"It's a matter of principle - the ANC government has failed to deliver or to fulfil its promises. Nothing personal, we are not disgruntled [or] emotional [and] we are not aggrieved."
