CAPE TOWN - Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi says President Jacob Zuma needs to answer to the 783 charges against him in a court of law.

Buthelezi was speaking during his manifesto launch in Cape Town earlier today.

IFP leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi has weighed in on the Pretoria High Court's decision to reinstate hundreds of fraud and corruption charges against President Zuma.

"I've always said that Zuma needs to have his day in court because these allegations against him are not good for him and also not for us as a country."

Buthelezi was in high spirits as he addressed dozens of the party's supporters.

He said Cape Town residents were close to his heart, adding no matter the hardship, there's always an enduring sense of hope.
