CAPE TOWN - An alleged serial rapist, accused of attacking at least three women near Rhodes Memorial, is expected to face additional charges.

The man appeared in the Wynberg Magistrates Court yesterday.

The 35-year-old will remain behind bars as prosecutors prepare for the case to go to trial.

He has been charged with rape, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and kidnapping.

But additional charges could be added to his rap sheet.

He was arrested in March, days after the University of Cape Town (UCT) offered a reward for information about his whereabouts.

At least five women had been attacked in the vicinity of Rhodes Memorial since November.
