Hope Zinde laid to rest in Pretoria

JOHANNESBURG - The funeral of former South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) board member Hope Zinde will be held at the Hellenic Community Hall in Pretoria this morning.





Zinde's body was discovered in her car at Pecanwood Estate in Hartbeespoort Dam over a week ago.

Her son has been charged with her murder and drug possession.

Zinde's death has been used highlight the scourge of drug abuse in South African communities.

Those close to the well-known broadcaster have called on citizens to work together to confront the problem.

Details emerged in court earlier this week of how Zinde's son, Mark, struggled with drug addiction.

Zinde has been hailed for the role she played at SABC and grooming young journalists that came after her.

She will be buried at the Garsfontein Cemetery.
