[LISTEN] Over 40 children in Blikkiesdorp still not placed in schools

| CapeTalk host Kienno Kammies and Western Cape Education MEC spokesperson Jessica Shelver discuss the placement of at least 40 Blikkiesdorp learners who are yet to be enrolled in schools.

CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape Education Department is working to place over 40 listed Blikkiesdorp children who have not been enrolled in schools.

Child rights organisation Molo Songololo has recorded the names of 43 children - some of whom have been out of school for up to three years.

The Western Cape Education MEC's spokesperson Jessica Shelver has urged Blikkiesdorp parents to come forward with details of their children to the department's nearest district office or school.

Shelver has explained that the department has struggled to verify the details of the children, due to incomplete information.
