How television can affect your children

Parenting expert Nikki Bush gives a guideline for parents, on the types of content viewed by their children on TV and other platforms.

JOHANNESBURG - Parenting expert Nikki Bush says parents should be concerned about the types of content their children are viewing on TV.

This includes the content viewed on gaming consoles, the internet and their phones.

Bush says two-thirds of children's programming on TV contain acts of violence that could affect them negatively.

"You have to be aware of who your children are engaging with," she says.
