Police investigate apparent drowning of Bishop Lavis boy

CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police are investigating the circumstances around the apparent drowning of a six-year-old child in Valhalla Park.

The boy's body was found yesterday afternoon.

Authorities have not been able to confirm whether the six-year-old is the same boy who went missing before the weekend.

Police were called out to Valhalla Park after the body of a child was found.

The police's Andre Traut said, "The circumstances surrounding the death of a six-year-old boy of Bishop Lavis are being investigated by the police. We have reason to believe he drowned. A death inquest docket has been registered."

Authorities have been unable to confirm whether the boy is Brita Trompetter from Bishop Lavis, who went missing in Valhalla Park on Friday morning.
