WC authorities clamp down on drinking & driving
Nine motorists have been arrested for driving under the influence during traffic operations across the WC.
CAPE TOWN - Nine motorists have been arrested for driving under the influence during traffic operations across the Western Cape.
Officials tested more than 860 drivers overnight at so-called alcohol-blitz roadblocks.
Traffic spokesperson Jacques Mostert said, "One person was arrested for false documentation and we also impounded two vehicles."
Mostert has urged motorists to adhere to the rules of the road.
"We want to urge all road users to not mix alcohol with road use, we will have more road blocks over the weekend in the province."
