Malema highlights importance of education in fighting poverty
The EFF leader cautioned the youth against burning public infrastructure during protests.
JOHANNESBURG - Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has used today's Youth Day commemorations to highlight the importance of education in fighting poverty, especially among black youth.
Malema visited young people in Embalenhle in Mpumalanga today.
The EFF leader said struggle stalwarts such as Steve Biko and Chris Hani fought for education.

Malema told the youth of Embalenhle that the uprisings were about black pride and the EFF was only party still fighting for poor black people.
He applauded the Fees Must Fall campaign, saying the students involved were like the generation of 1976.
Malema, however, cautioned the youth against burning public infrastructure, like schools and libraries, during protests, saying the country is nothing without education.
