CAPE TOWN - The bail application of two men accused of murdering six-year-old Saadiqah Lippert in Athlone has been postponed for two weeks.

The hearing was supposed to go ahead in the Athlone Magistrates Court today, but the defence says both the magistrate and State prosecutor are ill.

The two men allegedly fatally shot the child while she was playing near her home in Hazendal last month.

The girl's mother, Chimieze Francis, says she's disappointed by yet another delay.

"I wanted to go to the High Court; I also wanted to speed things up as they want the bail to be sped up but I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon."

Earlier this month, Francis said she wanted justice for her daughter.

She said, "It's hurting me inside, the fact that they're postponing [this case] every time. I don't want these two to get bail because I don't want them to be with their families as I can't be with my child. "
