PRETORIA - Convicted murderer Oscar Pistorius is back in the High Court in Pretoria today where original trial Judge Thokozile Masipa will begin hearing pre-sentencing arguments, with Pistorius expected to know his fate by the end of the week.

The former athlete spent a year in prison before the state successfully appealed his culpable homicide conviction.

Pistorius shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013, and he has maintained he thought she was an intruder.

Pistorius's defence team will start proceedings by calling witnesses that will support their reasons why the former athlete should receive a lenient sentence.
