JOHANNESBURG - North West police have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with the murder of former South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) board member Hope Zinde.

Zinde's body was found in a vehicle's boot in Pecanwood Estate in Hartebeespoort Dam yesterday.

The 50-year-old woman's son is expected to appear in the Brits Magistrates Court tomorrow.

The police's Sabata Mokgwabone said, "He happens to be the victim's son and he will appear in the Brits Magistrates Court tomorrow and he will also be facing a charge of possession of drugs and that is over and above the charge of murder."

Earlier, her family asked that there be no speculation into the circumstances surrounding her death while police investigate.

Reports yesterday surfaced that her son may be a suspect in her murder.
