Delays expected along William Nicol Drive amid road works
One lane on either side of William Nicol Drive, between Sloane Street & the N1 Highway will be closed.
JOHANNESBURG - The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) says it will be upgrading road surfaces and improving drainage systems on a number of roads in the north west of Johannesburg, affecting a section of William Nicol Drive, among other suburban roads.
The JRA says one lane on either side of William Nicol Drive, between Sloane Street and the N1 Highway, will be closed off for road works over the next three weekends.
The roads agency says it is trying to minimise the impact this will have on Fourways traffic, which is why the road closures will take place from Friday evening until early Monday morning.
The closures start tomorrow.
Spokesperson Bertha Peters-Scheepers says there will be disruptions and commuters are advised to use that section of the road carefully.
"Rehabilitation of the roads and cleaning of storm water drainage system will be taking place. Commuters are advised to keep safety in mind and plan for additional time on and around William Nicol."
