15 years each for 2 men who robbed SABC crew

JOHANNESBURG - The two men convicted of robbing an South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) news crew at gunpoint during a live broadcast outside Milpark Hospital have been sentenced to 15 years each in prison.

SABC journalist Vuyo Mvoko was preparing to do a live crossing last year when the pair approached him and his crew and robbed them live on air.

The NPA's Phindi Louw said, "I can confirm that the two men accused of robbing the SABC crew in Milpark were sentenced to 15 years today in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court. We are satisfied as the NPA and believe that the sentence is appropriate to the seriousness of the crime committed."
